Alright, the invasion into the Fire Nation was a failure, and the gang, along with Teo, Haru, and The Duke, leave for the Western Air Temple and flee. So, in all honesty, what the hell was the point of bringing any of them back? They've served no purpose whatsoever; even on their arrival to the Western Air Temple, the three of them branch off almost instantly. Does everyone agree or can anyone counter? XDD

Well when you have almost an entire plot around Zuko joining the gang, a few characters are surely to get pushed around. Anyways I am sure they will play a part. I mean they are the new invasion force. They will get some air time and everyone will see why Haru is an awesome earthbender next to Toph. Teo is important as I could see him helping Sokka with the plans and locating when the adults are. The Duke might get some air time even for some comic relief with Pipsqueak. Then show the two of them why they are the freedom fighters. Zuko of course will be by Aang's side while facing the Firelord. I expect to see some Hakoda and Sokka double time action. Toph leading a group of earthbenders. Katara healing others who are wounded on the battlefield. I have a feeling they may need to come up with some more machinery, and that is where Teo comes in handle. He could invent a new armored tank. They are still needed. Plus with the series coming to a close, there is going to be a lot of ship clashes. Haru and Katara will be one as well.

Well... From my understanding, in the episode "The Southern Raiders", the gang leaves for the Fire Nation without Hakoda, Teo, Haru, The Duke or Chit Sang. THAT makes no sense.

Well perhaps they were on a scouting mission and was going to go back to pick them up later. Remember the Western Air Temple is basically a temperate home for them. But I thought that episode is about Hakoda telling them the story of the Southern Water Tribe? o.O That episode is airing on my birthday by the way. ;D

Yeah, but.... From my understanding, they're not even mentioned in the season finale. They leave, and that's literally it. XDDD

But why would Hakoda leave before the finally? I mean he is one of the major minor characters. He has to be in the final, at least free the rest of the invasion force. Hakoda has to be in the final. We'll just wait and see. Perhaps you will see Haru, Teo, and The Duke in the background at least.

Hm, I don't really think they would make them leave just like that. And if they do maybe it was a mistake that they brought them a long at all? But then what would be the purpose for the boiling rock? Eh! >< They could have made Hakoda not arrive.

Yeah, but if they aren't even in the book, which is supposed to be legit ((much to my dismay)), then why would they throw in new material? :\

The way they've handled Avatar this season is atrocious... let's hope M. Night might actually redeem the series if it turns out to be like this book says it will. But back on topic...
In my opinion, the only purpose of bringing back those characters was to bring them back; pretty shallow indeed. They think showing familiar faces again is good enough. I think Mike and Bryan have done the series so many injustices; their main problem is that they're treating the show like it's "happy fun kiddie hour." Based on Book Three, the show has minimal continuity, cringe worthy dialogue, and lackluster events and conclusions. :\

Amen. It's entirely true though; I couldn't have agreed more. I bet you anything that while they were devising Season Three, they perused a bunch of forums, just to see what fans would like. Teo and Haru are perfect examples. They were minor fan favorites, and for the hell of it, they bring them in for fan girl squees.

Sozin's Comet: The Final Battle is perhaps the most darkest piece of work Mike and Bryan has ever produced. Judging from the trailer, it's going to make the Book even more special.
As for "Happy Kid Hour" remember this is Nickelodeon who are in love with Spongebob. Blame Nick, not the writing staff or the creators. Also, M. Night Shyamalan said he was having the hardest time keeping this PG. We could see a PG-13 The Last Airbender.
p.s. What is this font called?

(Century Gothic)
Yes, Nickelodeon holds a lot of the blame, but the creators are writing it for kids, so they hold their blame as well. And since the finale came out, we now know there was absolutely no point in having them.
