EPIC. So intense, so suspenseful, so downright awesome! The fight sequences were phenomenal, the music perfect, the plot spread nicely; the series redeemed itself! The final kiss was a bit much, the hug would have sufficed.
...And I smell a follow up, no?

Nope, no follow up. Hate to say it, there was an "The End" so if Nick does decide to continue. It's going to be new characters. But that is just a rumor from some sites. Anyways I still wish Aang would have killed the Firelord as everyone was looking forward too. But the entire spirit world scene makes pretty good up for it.
Azula is probably going to kill herself while she goes batshit insane. Ozai will probably do the same while he is imprisoned. If not try to escape, but fail several times. I kind of want to see Suki and Ty Lee in action together. Judging from the Boiling Rock. Ty Lee and Suki will make a great team. I wonder if Ty Lee will teach Suki how to stop bending. Suki is more then capable at this.
I never realized that Combustion Man and Aang's meeting in The Beach would foreshadow how the fight between him and Ozai will be. Bumi was awesome in this all, although I wish he could have had some more epicness in Omashu. But he bended the houses, (Shyamalan would love this) but Bumi bending it like Palpatine used the force on the Senate. /facepalm
The White Lotus Order was pretty cool and some part of the fight reminded me of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. With all four elements crashing down on the Fire Nation. The ending scene was very well done with having all of the nations there. Symbolizing the end of the war and peace being restore.
Mai and Zuko are finally reunited after all of this time. I wonder what children they are going to have. After all three seasons battling his inner emotions and shyness. (Not to mention the threat of Zutara to the writing staff and fans.) Aang finally gets Katara, and having Katara be the one to kiss him instead of Aang, was very clever. Showing that she has battle her emotions too.
I wonder if Nick does decide to continue it. The next series might be called, "Avatar: The Next Generation." Cliché name I realize, but most likely. I mean Mai and Zuko are probably going to have children. Katara and Aang kind of have too, seeing as they need to repopulate the Air Nomads. But will Sokka ever return to Kyoshi Island?
Anyways this just made the entire book 3 worth it. I am kind alright with Katara not killing the guy if it was suppose to foreshadow what Aang was going to do. I still think Nick wussed out though. -_-

Just because ATLA is over doesn't mean there won't be a A:whatever with the same characters. There's plenty more to be explored with Zuko' plotline, which seems to be pointing in the direction of a spin-off starring our favorite firelord, but I'll leave that for the spec board. The finale was undeniably incredible; absolutely the best in the entire series. This episode(s) alone raised the bar for all Western produced animation. It'll definitely win and Emmy, unquestionably. Fight sequences were amazing and so was the musical score, as especially demonstrated in the absolutely perfect Agni-kai segment. Some moments that really stood out to me: Toph's fight scene to gain control of the airship, Sokka and Toph falling, Azula bursting into tears as she breaths fire, Bumi's escape, the dumping of the airship crew, and countless others. Although having a few minor flaws (unnecessary Kataang kiss, corny jokes, lack of Iroh, etc.), I couldn't have asked for anything more in this wonderful Avatar finale. This surpassed my expectations in a major way, especially when comparing it to the rest of the below-standard Book 3.

I doubt Nick will make a new series and plus if they did, they already said it's going to be with new characters. The Katara and Aang kiss was unnecessary? It's been three long seasons of Aang battling his inner emotions, shyness, (shipping), and the thought that Katara doesn't like him. ( The Ember Island Players) All to realize that at the end of everything. She truly does love him. Having Katara being the one that kissed him was even symbolism that she loves him back. This was a good way to end the emotion battle Aang was fighting, not to mention Katara. The only people who would think it's unnecessary are those who never like the ship in the first place. For those who were following the story since day one and never got involved with shipping. Like me and a fellow others I know. This kiss was necessary to finally show that Aang has won much more then just the day. Anyways, I have a feeling that Aang and Katara may have two airbenders, twin boys and I think Katara will birth a waterbender girl. Mai and Zuko will probably have a girl and a boy. EDIT: Alright I was browsing /co/ on 4chan which is getting flooded with Avatar threads. Apparently there is another series in the works for 2009. However there was no link and no source so as of right now. It's a rumor. But the series is going to consist of 12 episodes and will focus around Firelord Zuko and his mother. I believe the title of the thread was also the name of the series. Journey of a Prince: Zuko's StoryBelow is the original poster's post seeing as how threads usally are deleted off of 4chan. So what do you think? Is this series possible? EDIT: Alright, I also found a flyer somebody else posted there. They got it from some site, but they were unsure where THEY got it from. It looks as if it was an official press confidence. Below the image is.

They're both too young to be in love. I agree that they're the most likely couple in the series, but I think hug would've sufficed. There was already moment in the episode where it's obvious she realized her feelings for Aang (I can't remember where this was specifically, but it definitely was there), so the kiss pushed it over the top for me. It made it feel like the whole purpose of the series was Kataang.
And dude, what did I just say? Leave all talk about the future of the series for the speculation board. <__<

Taking the series apart I see. Well they were in love, so that is something people have to deal with. Plus you just added real world customs to a show about ancient civilization.

I have to agree with BB and Lia, the kissing was pushing it a bit. I would have definitely felt better with just the hugging. I was a kataanger in my days but I realized it just feels wrong. But anyways, I'm just saying that it's my opinion and probably others too, that the hug alone would have been better. =/ But the finale itself was rockin'! xDDD I especially loved when Katara froze azula and herself. xDD Like way to go Katara! xP

Okay, Aang loves Katara, that's fine, but he's thirteen; he has plenty of time to develop a real relationship with her. If he really loved her, he could wait, and an embrace would have sufficed nicely for an end. Other than that, I had nothing really to complain of the finale. XDD

Agreed. A hug would have sufficed and the kiss was really pushing. Aang's too young for Katara! (More like too old...He's technically 113 but you get the point....)
