Now I have been thinking? Piandio(sp) said that Sokka will someday become a great master like he is. However, does this mean Sokka will achieve a rank greater then that of Suki or is Suki classified as a master?
I guess she technically is, seeing as she is possibly the best warrior on their tiny island. But wouldn't the rank of Master be around the entire world and not just on some small island?
I would love to see Sokka return to see her after some 20 years later and say, "When I came to you, I was but the learner, now I am the Master."

Er... well I don't see how any of them (even Aang) could be considered masters of their field, seeing as they're all still under 18 and nowhere even close to the skill level of the White Lotus; they throw around the term "master" too much in the series. But I guess going by the show's standard of fighters, Suki's one of the greatest, so I'm not quite sure if Sokka would compare or not.

Well of course Suki's skill level is higher then Sokka's right now. But I am talking about the future mostly. Sokka will probably learn more skills and fight in more battles over minor confidences. I mean what necessary will Suki do?
The Kyoshi Warrior's skills haven't really been used for quiet some time. Remember Kyoshi Island was not in the war until Suki and the girls decided to go off to war since Aang arrived on the island.
Now the warriors will probably just go back to being minor security guards when you think about it. Can you become a master by simply just training and fighting enemies that approach your corner of the world?
Also the 18 is legal age limit is only though because this show is a Western show with Western concepts. However in the Avatar world, the 18 limit is non-existences. Sokka and the other groupies seem to be treated as adults, even though in the first Avatar game they were called children/kids. -.-

I was using 18 as an age basis.... not in terms of legality. The majority of the group is still young, even by ATLA's standards.

By the series' conclusion, Aang was thirteen, and as far as aging goes, he's still a kid. It still baffles me-- a twelve year old mastering four elements? It took his predecessor, Roku, a majority of his life to learn the bending arts, and it took Aang less than a year to "master" three additional elements. I've also read ((from official sources)) that by the beginning of the series, Aang had already perfected his airbending. Imo, totally daffy. In fact, the whole Katara "mastering waterbending in mere weeks" is even more absurd. By Season Three, she was literally a god at bending. Mary Sue much? BUT, maintaining the topic, Suki's no master. In comparison to other non-benders, like Piandao fr'instance, she's an amateur. It takes years, decades, to master one's art, and I doubt Suki's spent numerous years training. She's fit more in the category of "strong warrior".

According to Avatar Wiki, Suki began training when she was 8 years old. As for the master thing go, Aang is no master. He still has Zuko and even Toph criticizing his Earthbending and Firebending. He will still need to learn more before he is considered a master. However he will still be known for Engrybending and ending the 100 year war where Roku failed.
Katara isn't really a master either, she still has a lot to learn. Even though her SKILLS improved greatly. Just went to show you what kind of master she will grow up to be. As for Aang, we the Avatar also has a faster learning ablity, still doesn't make him a master yet.

Sorry, I can't agree with someone who spells energy wrong...
Paku called Katara a master, so I think that proves in the Avatarverse the majority of the Gaang would be considered masters...

I consider Katara, Toph, and Aang masters. It seems like it in the avatar universe, since I haven't seen anything like them in the show, you know, except for the white lotus and the avatars. I think Suki is a master, for her age. She could still improve a lot, just like the rest of the group. I don't like Sokka that much so I barely take notice in the progress he has made. ^^;
