The more I watch The Avatar and The Firelord, the more I want a spinoff miniseries involving young Roku and Sozin having adventures. We could had new characters like Sozin's father and grandfather. I think this could be sucessful and it sounds like something Mike and Bryan will do.
Why does it seem like whenever there is a Firelord and an Avatar, it looks as if that is the friendship they have? lulz

I think that's the irony of it, how history repeats itself. But I honestly wasn't too crazy for this episode. To me, at least, it seemed like just another decent filler to ease my quench for Avatar a couple of months ago. I think we've explored plenty of Roku's life, and it's the present that needs some more explaining.

Who do you think Sozin's father was? What role did the Firelord play back then before the roll during the age of peace? Was there anyother war hungry Firelords before Sozin, Azulon, and Ozai? Zuko is bringing the Fire Nation to where it once was, or more like reformed Germany after WWII.
However we need a good plot for this miniseries to come to pass. What could Roku and Sozin do? Perhaps exploring their history together after troubling signs of war? That way it adds some more irony to mix that Sozin helped Roku provent war, yet he was the one who brought a one hundred year war.
The ending to the finale was awesome because of this episode. However I do wish the season could have had more episodes. I don't even care if it's a filler, I just would have wanted more episodes with Zuko in the Gaang. Mostly because it doesn't feel like he's an official member. Like how you could automatically classify Toph as a Gaang member. Anyways Avatar Aang and Firelord Zuko restored Roku and Sozin's friendship, that was one reason I cried at the end. That and the fact that they have finally reached their destiny.
How about a double miniseries with Aang and Zuko doing something and then at the same time we go back in time with Roku and Sozin? Jesus, I just love this episode too damn much.

I think making an additional series documenting Sozin and Roku's life would be far too excessive. It seems like good fanfiction material, but that's its largest extent. I know what I need to know about Sozin or Roku, and frankly, I don't care if there's even more to their story. They've got plenty of crap to resolve as it is.

Why do they need to add anything. It's just a miniseries featuring Roku and Sozin. Stop looking into something that doesn't really need to be looked into. Jeez. Speaking of which I think this is Nicktoons Network's favorite episode because I just watched it again. I just remember this was when Iroh first spoke since the end of Book 2. I remember this made a big time buzz thoughout the fandom. Speaking of which, does this officially make Aang Zuko's grandfather or not?

Stop looking into something that doesn't really need to be looked into. Jeez. Likewise, my friend. But spiritually, I think Aang is related to Zuko. Not biologically, of course, but if anything, there are high spiritual ties between the two.

People have also talked about what if there was a character similar to the likes of Indiana Jones. I think perhaps they could do a similar storyline with Roku and Sozin. The two could travel on one of the dragons perhaps if not something else. They could find lost relics of the Avatar world and unlock secrets. Perhaps Roku could unlock secrets about the universe and Avatar information before he begins his training.
I only see this being like a 12 episode series though, similar to the miniseries series in 2009. Hopefully that is about Zuko and his mother. They obviously took the scene out of the finale for a reason.

Yeah, they lacked time, and it'd be too long to keep it in there. I don't understand that; there's half a dozen scenes they didn't need in the movie, and if they were to take those out those useless minutes, I'm sure they'd have enough time to put in that coveted scene.

I could see Roku definitely, but I can't imagine he and Sozin being all buddy-buddy and whatnot. After all, that was the point of the episode.

Precisely. From the very beginning, they were still rivals, despite their incredible friendship, but towards the end, they became completely bitter. Hell, Sozin even watched as his best friend became incinerated by magma. Nothing says "You're my best friend" more than seeing your childhood buddy become flesh toast.
