Now what just a minute, Mike just called her Avatar Susan? So was this like her original name before it was changed or what? I am watching the audio commentaries with Mike and Bryan on my Book 3 DVD boxset. They just blasted George Lucas by saying they could always go back and do a George Lucas version.

Urgh, please, no. :-\ As much as Star Wars is woven into my childhood, I'd prefer not to see such fate applied to Avatar. Like, don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Star Wars and I respect the thought of making a series on previous Avatars, but HELLO? They've left a massive gap in the end. Why don't you work on that?

Best not to work on loose ends and gaps. Star Wars filled plenty of 'gaps' in the original trilogy, but it just left new ones. Also as for the whole 'mommy' thing, Mike takes full responsibility for adding it. The reason he decided to add it was because he felt it was a good scene that demonstrated that Zuko was now in charge and the roles were reversed. Zuko now being in control of his father. Either way they said it just was too big a story to do in one episode or four episodes effectively. They felt it delivered it's own story, but as for now we do not know if he went after her. But it's fairly obvious that he did.
As the George Lucas blast were obviously a joke because they were laughing at the idea. Even hinting about making the lionturtle into CG. You could tell they are disappointed Star Wars fans about what Lucas did. Either way the movies would probably be 'Avatar 2.0' anyways seeing as they probably is going to be CG. Ironically. They also said if the movie bombs, they already made fun of it at the end of The Ember Island Players as it also reflects the movie.

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't reply to this again. So, I'll gladly redeem. The reason he decided to add it was because he felt it was a good scene that demonstrated that Zuko was now in charge and the roles were reversed. Zuko now being in control of his father. Either way they said it just was too big a story to do in one episode or four episodes effectively. I don't care what Mike DiMartino said, but wow, I beg to differ with him. Quite frankly, I think even having Ursa present in the coronation crowd, cracking a smile, and walking away would have sufficed better than one of the creators saying, "There wasn't enough time." I'm realizing with each passing day how many flaws this show has. The amount of loopholes makes me insane. If I could, I would perfect this show by rewriting it... Ugh.
