It. Is. Official. Jesse McCartney is to, in fact, play Zuko. He's confirmed it live, on air. The conversation is below in an mp3 format. If you want to listen, the important part is a little passed the middle. If you're opting not to listen to it, see further below. a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18227/1h/cchannel.download.akamai.com/18227/podcast/TUCSON-AZ/JJAR-IP/JESSE_MCCARTNEY_1-23-09.mp3Okay, so for those opting not to check it out (I don't blame you, it goes on a brief rant for a few minutes before Jesse talks about Avatar), this is Jesse McCartney's take on "The Last Airbender": If that doesn't irk you, check out what he also added upon when the movie's going to be released: So, yeah, someone doesn't know their facts. Also, if you listen a little further, he doesn't even know Nicola Peltz or Jackson Rathborne's last names either. Ugh, disgrace. This is bound to be a terrible movie...

I find it fascinating how people love to pick apart words of actors as they do politicians. Usually actors don't know what a certain thing is until they are casted. If young Jesse here does his homework and watches all three seasons of the series (probably just book one). Learns the facts and gets to know some of the other actors on set or off set. Then he might be a very good Zuko. I have been warming up to him and now I cannot see Zuko anymore without seeing Jesse's face. People complained about Heath Ledger as Joker, however now they said he revolutionized the part of Joker. I am starting to think Jesse and Jackson might have been good choices for the roles. Haven't seen too much of Nicola yet and nobody knows who the frack Noah is yet. As long as they find good Asian actors for the obvious Asian characters like Iroh. I'm happy. Most of these characters are ambiguous. Now for some good humor. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uy4KuOU6lRYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=oQTm6GXLAmsHowever if McCartney and Peltz ever hooked up in real life, they better be wary of the might that is the almighty Zutarians.

An actor is playing one of the most crucial character in a movie - no, a trilogy - and he's allowed to get away with not even knowing his basics? Sad, sad. And mind what you said, he's been cast already, and as Jesse himself has even interjected, he's started pre-production training, or "ninja stuff" as he regarded it. Real swank.

I would find it really hilarious if Bryan decided to take him on as his apprentice to tech him to master Northern Shaolin. I wish this was true, because I would love to see a fan comic done using these two going on a mission together.
Mike: Bryan I am assigning you a new apprentice, make sure to teach him everything he needs to know in order to be the best.
Bryan: But can't someone else try the boy?
Mike: You know Northern Shaolin remember?
Bryan: Fine.
Jesse: Hello, Jesse here.
Bryan facepalms.
I am sure there have been other actors who never knew the basics of what they were playing before. Anyways Jesse might end up the best actor out of the whole set currently announced.
