Now that Avatar's over, I feel it's safe enough to publicly put in my two cents about the finale. Can words captivate my emotions of the Avatar ending? I highly doubt such, but I'll see if I can promptly explain.
Where to begin? Oh, of course. The over stressing of Kataang. Aang's thirteen in the end of the series, and Katara's fifteen. I'm not pulling my hair out over it, but seriously, they're both too young to embark into a relationship. It's like Bryke almost forced them to show the love. It's as if they're saying, "Ha, they kissed. Take that, Zutara."
So, with our two future airbending baby making machines getting funky, we're left with the other members of the gang, y'know: Zuko, Sokka, Suki, and Toph. Sokka ended up with the superhuman, emotionless Suki who, I believe, has no character development and lacks a personality. She's just... a figurative blob. Zuzu finds a soul mate in Mai, and if I'm not mistaken, last time they saw each other, our favorite firebender locked his gal in a jail cell. See ya whenever, Mai! And Toph... ends up with Toph? The blind chick gets no love? Sure, Aang gets to suck face, but what about Toph? Is her crush for Sokka in vain?
One of my biggest pet peeves of the series was the fact that Teo, Haru, and the Duke were simply put back into the series for a brief fan service. I honestly think that Teo's the least Sue character of the series, and what do they do? They carelessly threw him in the mix with a couple of fan girl squeals on the side. By the way, what was the purpose for Haru's mustache? ...I thought so.
And last but certainly not least, Ursa's whereabouts. If Bryan and Mike have the gall to say, "That's it. The end. That about wraps it up!", then I've lost a lot of respect for them. They've said in interviews and such that they originally had the reunion in the finale, but it was cut for time. Well, couldn't they have gotten rid of half of the events in The Phoenix King? The beach scene was totally unnecessary. We could have lived without it.
So, that pretty much ends my rant. Anyone care to retaliate?
