Here are the rules for roleplay:
1. RPs are non discussion - Please do not turn RPs into conversatinal topics, as there is a reason we have a OOC board. You are allowed small notes like "OOC: Quit God-modding" or "OOC: Sorry my post isn't very long", as long as they have the "OOC:" tag before them.
2. No God-Modding - God modding is when a person controls another characters actions or outcomes. Like if you are character #1 and you write "Character #2 goes to a club", that would be god modding. It would also be god modding if you were to say "Character #2 has been shot". You can do anything, as long as the outcome of another character is not determined. You can shoot AT another character, but you can't say if it hits or not. Most people who RP are good sports so they will allow you a hit or two, but you must allow them some as well. (Also, you cannot kill other characters, unless the poster gives you permission. You may set up a death for your character at any time)
3. No Scripts, Post Length - Do not make posts like
"Charcter #1: I'll kill you!
Character:#2: No you won't!
*Kill each other*"
This would be considered a script. Posts must be in the form of a paragraph, at least 5 sentences.
4. 2 Threads Only! - When you make an RP, only make 2 threads for it. One in the appropriate genre sub-board and another in the OOC Discussion Sub-Board. DO NOT make threads in the main RP category and DO NOT post in an official RP sub-board unless you have signed up for it in the main topic first. (You don't need to create a threads for sign up and one for the actual RP, since that is what official RPs and official RPs only do.)
Method
Now, you may be asking yourself how RPs work on this board. Well, simply go into the sub board that suits your needs and either start an RP (in the corrent form) or join one (in the correct CS). RPs will also appear in the main section, where the rules are. These are official RPs that you are allowed to join. When a certain number of members are reached for taht RP, a sub-board will be created for topics to be started in that board. YOU MUST be signed up for that RP to post in it. Registration never closes for Official RPs. The sign-up threads will then be moved to the sub-board. If boards lose activity, they will be deleted and topics will be moved.
Form
If you start an RP, it must follow these rules, but other thatn that, feel free to do whatever you like. Here is the correct form for starting an RP.
1. Have a good backstory. Include all details about the setting, such as time, place, etc... that are necessary to the storyline. The storyline must be of good quality (meaning, it must have a purpose) and MUST be two paragraphs minimum, keeping in mind that a paragraph is at least 4-6 sentences long.
2. Include a character sheet (CS) that includes the information necessary to your RP. Here's an example of a good CS (which can, of course, be modified to fit your RP's needs):
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
-Height:
-Weight:
-Eye Color:
-Hair Color:
-Clothes:
Personality
History/Background:
3. Also, include basic and/or special rules for your RPG.
4. Co-GM'ing games is allowed.
If you start an RP, please create a thread for it in the OOC discussion section as well, to have any major OOC discussions.
