Hotel Hollow Bastion

Okay, based on the title, this sounds REALLY lame. xDD Well...it kind of is, but not really. o.O Well, anyway...

During the events of KH2, right before the final fight with Xemnas, a mysterious figure appears on the platform in the World That Never Was, stopping time, leaving only Sora, Riku, and Kairi unaffected. The person says something cryptic, then vanishes, pulling the three along with them on quick trip through time and space. On an alternate time line, the three arrive back at the Hollow Bastion castle, which now appears to be a hotel. They soon discover Maleficent is the manager, and in an effort to find out what exactly has happened to them, they take jobs working there to be able to use HB's vast resources. What possibles secrets and discoveries can they uncover?

Alright, in this story, you can chose to be Sora, Riku, Kairi, Maleficent, or even an original character. Basic RP rules apply, including no Mary Sue/Gary Stu charris, use proper grammar, and stick to the storyline. The basic storyline in this RP will just chronicle the events at Hotel Hollow Bastion, including starting off with the group's daily routine, and down the line more events will begin to happen. The character limit as of this starting point is 2. However, down the line, if you like and are active in the RP, you can create and bring in more characters. Also, NPCs can be added whenever you like, with no need for a CS, as well as any heartless/nobodies there might be. If you have any questions, either briefly ask them here or in the OOC discussion topic for this RP.

If someone signs up before we get to far into the story and wants Riku, by all means, just ask me either in PM or the OOC discussion thread. Also, you can ask me about adding more KH characters later, such as Mickey, Xemnas, etc. For now, the max character limit is being raised to 3. So, feel free to add another one now, or later. If you have not yet signed up, feel free to at a later point, not matter how far in the story we get. ;D Simple questions can be asked here, as long as you have storyline going with it. So, liek using the OOC tag, then going back to IC and continuing the storyline. However, most discussion should take place in the OOC thred. Nori slightly chuckled as she put down Maleficent's new brochure for the hotel after reading it. "Well, I don't know if it's that wonderful," she said aloud, leaving her place behind the library's counter. She walked out onto the balcony, overlooking the vast land that lay before the hotel. She breathed in the crisp air and continued, "But it is pretty close."

Minda stumbled on through the doors of the hotel. "Oh no! am I late? ergg got to tie shoelaces...". Once Minda got her shoe tied she looked around. Hmm I wonder where this Maleficent person is she thought sounds like some kinda whacko to me. As she looked across the hotel she spotted the gift shop. Hey she might know, I'll go ask her. Minda walked over to the gift shop, as she walked through the doorway she tripped on her other shoelace. "Oof! oww.." Nice job Minda, great way to make your first impression... Minda tied her other shoelace then stood up. "Umm hi... I'm looking for Maleficent, do you know where she is?".

Garreth sighed, boredom got a hold of him. In the past, he had seen the hotel boom with business that provided him with more than enough work, but nowadays, customers failed to be as frequent. The teenager leaned against a wall as his eyes scanned each line of words of the novel he had borrowed from the hotel's library. Making sure that his luggage cart was in his gaze, he was assured that surroundings were secure. "Nothing better to do around here than read," he said through thought. "I swear, listening to my parents bicker is twice as entertaining than this." He sighed once again and hoped that time would pass quickly.

[Beebs]

((OOC: Um...I guess I need to have someone working in the Gift Shop then...my character, who's in charge of it is outside on a balcony now, so...xDDD))

Riku wiped the sweat from his forehead, relieved that the breakfast rush was finally over. "Hey," he called out to the others cooks, "I'm taking my break now!" He hung up his apron and left the kitchen into the dining hall. He sat down at and empty table, pulling out Maleficent's new brochure, humorously smiling after reading it. He reached over to the fruit basket in the middle of the table and pulled out an apple. He took a bite of of it as he continued reading.

Meanwhile, Dori returned back inside to the library from the outside balcony, and sat down at the desk. Realizing what time it was, she picked up the gear-powered telephone, calling the gift shop, where her assistant was holding things over until the library closed; he and she alternated shifts. The young man in the gift shop answered the phone, and asked, "Hello?"

Dori smiled and replied, "Hey, it's Dori. How's everything going down there?"

"Pretty dull," he dryly responded, "Looks like one of the maids just came in, but that's it. She's asking about Maleficent, do you know where she is? I don't know where she is..."

"Oh, sure," Dori said in a cheery tone, "Tell her she's most likely in her office, which is on the third floor. Just tell her to follow the managerial signs."

"Mm," he grunted, "Will do. Bye now." He hung up the phone, as Dori smirked and hung up her end as well.

"Okay," he said to Minda, "Third floor office, follow the management signs."

((OOC: woops heh heh sorry about that, bad which directions ^^; ))

"Umm Thank you!". Minda went off to the office. Oh my gosh! did I just think he was a girl?! wow this is not my day, at least I didn't call him a girl out loud she thought rushing to the stairs. By the time Minda reached the third floor she had fallen a total of 6 times. My god I am such a clutz... Minda opened the massive door leading into Maleficent's office. As she entered, she saw a tall, slender woman with pale green skin. Beside her perched a crow, black as soot. "Hello, I came to get a job as a maid, here is my resumé." Minda was completely nervous, she had never had a job before in which the boss wore a long dark cloak, had pale green skin or had a crow as a pet. Never the less, she needed money, she needed a job.


Meanwhile, Kairi was sweeping the hall on the third floor when she heard a thump. Huh I wonder what that is... she thought. Kairi looked down to see a blonde-hair girl stumbling up the steps. Must be the new maid Kairi thought then went back to sweeping the hall.

((OOC: It's fine, I never even thought about who'd run the other while Dori was working, so I'm glad you brought it to my attention. xDD))

"Hm..." Maleficent mumbled, as she read Minda's resume, "Fine, we've been short of staff lately. You have the job." She sat the piece of paper and turned to her assistant, who looked like a giant man-like dog, and said, "Pete, go fetch Kairi and get Minda a uniform." She turned to her, "You'll start immediately."

"Yes ma'am!" Pete said, saluting, before rushing out into the hallway and stumbling into Kairi before he thought he would. "Oh, it's you. Hey, Maleficent is lookin' for you!" After relaying the message he continued down to the storeroom to grab a uniform.

Yes! got the job! now all I have to do is to not get fired Minda thought excitedly.

As Kairi finished up her chore, Pete came running down the hall. "Oh, ok". Kairi opened the door to Maleficent's office where the new girl stood, awkwardly. "Yes Maleficent? What may I help you with?" Kairi said barely half way into the room.

[Beebs]

"Hm? Oh yes..." Maleficent said as she read some of the business papers on her desk, "Kairi, this is your new co-worker, Minda. Could please show her the ropes of how housekeeping runs things around here? That would be splendid." She turned her head to more of the papers, almost as if she forgot that anyone was still in the room.

Meanwhile, Riku got up from the table and cleaned it himself, so the busboys wouldn't have to trouble themselves with it. He leaned against one of the counters and looked at the clock. "Hm...I still have some time in my break left..." He thought to himself, "Maybe I'll pay Sora a visit..."

[Liamane]

Handing the customer his room key, Sora warmly smiled to the man. "Thank you, sir, and enjoy your stay!" the young man exclaimed, the words were cemented in his head for he constantly repeated it to each new customer every day. Smiling in reply, the man took the elevator to his designated floor in which he would be able to find his room. Sighing, the keyblade bearer hopped up on the counter parallel to the front desk, and he swung his feet as they dangled toward the floor. "Sheesh, barely any activity for the morning run. Hope it gets more interesting later on..."

[Beebs]

Riku stepped out into the foyer, where he saw Sora sitting atop a counter, staring at the floor below. "Geez, you sure are lazy," Riku said with a chuckle, walking over to Sora and playfully punching him in the shoulder, "You better not let Maleficent catch you."

Meanwhile, Nori began to stock the books that had been returned through the overnight bin. When she was done with her task, she rolled the book cart back behind the desk and sat in her chair. She picked up that was lying on the desk and opened it up to her stopping point, beginning to read.

Soon after, a woman came into the library through the main entrance and gazed in awe at all of the books. Nori noticed her bewilderment and smiled, calling out, "Hi, welcome to the library. I'm Nori, is there something I can help you find?"

"Well," the woman answered, walking over to the main desk, "I'm looking for one called "The Autobiography of Ansem the Wise", but I couldn't seem to find it when I was in here yesterday and the man in here before was no help."

"Oh, I'm really sorry about him, I need to talk to him about that," Nori responded, blushing with embarrassment, "Let me check and see if I have the book." She began typing in the title in her computer and soon found a lone result. "Hm...well, it doesn't seem that we've ever had this book in the library before, but it has been in back storage for a few months now. I'll just go fetch it and bring it back here in a jiffy."

The woman pushed her falling glasses back against her nose, and said, "Oh well, I'm afraid I can't wait. I'm expecting an important phone call in a few minutes and I'll be tied up in my room for most of the day. Judging by the sign outside, the library will be closed by the time I get done and I won't need to book after tonight. Heh...yeah, maybe next time then."

"Well, how about this," Nori suggested, "You can go back to your room and I'll get the book and have our bellman, Garreth, bring it directly to you. Sound good?"

"Oh, well, are you sure?" the woman innocently asked, "I don't want to be a burden. Well, I'm in Room 38, my name is Rose."

"It's no problem rose and have a great day!" Nori replied, waving goodbye to Roe as she began to leave the library.

[Liamane]

Sora looked up at his best friend, and a sheepish smile crossed his face. "Aw, c'mon Riku," the teenager responded as he hopped down from the counter. "Lighten up, will ya? You know I'd never get caught by ol' Maleficent." Placing his hands on his hips, the young man sneered and a sneaky chortle escaped his lips. "Buuut, if I were you, I'd watch my own back!"

[Beebs]

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean? You're the slacker here, not me!" Riku humorously responded, laughing at the joke between the two friends, "So, doing anything important?"

Meanwhile, a wide grin appeared on Dori's face as she picked up the book she had been searching for from a shelf in the dark storage room. She opened it up, causing a small cloud of to poof dust in her face. She squinted her eyes and dropped the book on the stone floor, waving her arms around to clear the air. She rubbed her face and thought to herself, "How'd it get so much dust in just a few months of being in storage?"

She leaned down to the ground and began to pick it up when something caught her eye; a lone golden key under the metal shelf. She looked at the open book to her right to she an indenture on the inward cover, shaped like a key. "Hm...must have fallen out," she decided, stretching her arm to grasp the key. She pulled it out and wedged it into the slot, smiling at her achievement. She looked at stone steps leading to the narrow exit, reminding herself, "Right, time to go find Garreth."
