Shouei and the group searched for R.E.F.U. all over the place. It was when he smelt the scent of rosewater that his head turned and saw R.E.F.U. and Beppa eating out at a ramen restaraunt.

Shouei walked up to the table. "R.E.F.U., I was looking all over for you." before whispering, "What are you doing?!"

"Ah, so this must be Sensei Grumpy that you mentioned earlier." Beppa smirked.

"Yes, I'm Sensei Grumpy." Shouei said in unenthused sarcasm. "I'm glad we could chat, but we REALLY have to be going." he grabbed R.E.F.U. and pulled him out from the restraunt.

Beppa only smiled and waved as they left.

[Beebs]

Kaido crossed his arms, throwing his head back in annoyance. He began, "What was that kid doing?"

Dawn put her finger to her lips in curiosity, shrugging and replying, "I guess Shouei was right, he really was entranced by that woman. This is so weird...I know I've seen her somewhere before....urgh, why can't I remember?!" Dawn threw her hands into the air with frustration and knelt slightly to the ground.

Shouei brought R.E.F.U. back to the group. "R.E.F.U., I'm only going to say this once; don't go near that woman."

"But why? She's nice." R.E.F.U. asked in confusion.

"I know, she may seem like a normal person, but as I came to get you, I noticed she was wearing a signant ring with the symbol of the Black Dragon Society."

[Beebs]

"Now I remember!" Dawn interjected, perking up after Shouei's announcement, "She was a broadcaster on the radio. When we heard her, my father told me of how she was once on his researcher team. I've only seen pictures of her until now. I always thought she was so pretty when I was little. But she and her fiance were tried for war crimes; he was killed and she disappeared shortly after. Oh, what was her name, it started with a 'T'...hm...Taina? Timara? Tyra? Urgh..."

"Taiira Aiko!" Shouei said now remembering.

"Wait, I'm confused," R.E.F.U. spoke, "Whats the Black Dragon Society?"

"They were a right-winged nationalist group that helped to commission much of the battles and warfunds since 1901. Not many of them are left now, but they seem to be trying to get back into the campaign."

"Why do you say that?"

"She clearly knows who you are, R.E.F.U.; they might be after you for the same reason the lab that created you is after you."

[Beebs]

"Wait a minute," Kaido interrupted, folding his arms across his chest, "How do you know so much about them? And how do you know what her real name is??"

Dawn stared at the two men; an uneasy silence growing between them.

R.E.F.U. looked at Shouei, who seemed as if he was repressing some painful memories. "Sensei, whats wrong."

"I use to make weapons for the Black Dragons!" Shouei said letting it out with a clutched fist. "...I'm not proud of my history, but what could a struggling technitian with a family do in those days? We were always being watched and I didn't want my family to be suspected as traitors in any way, so I... offered my services..."

[Beebs]

"That's so...sad," Dawn said solemnly, staring down at the ground below, "Everything revolving that war was so awful...so many families shattered...so many people betrayed...it's just so...horrible."

"I agree," Kaido responded, turning his attention to Dawn first, then to Shouei, "I understand why you did it though...you were protecting your family. That's all that should matter."

"In the end, it still didn't save them..." Shouei sighed, looking away with loss in his eyes.

R.E.F.U. then took Shouei's hand, "They still love you in Heaven, Sensei; I know it."

Shouei looked at R.E.F.U., Dawn, and Kaido. Surprisingly enough, a small smile came to his face in a long time. "Domo."

[Beebs]

"Well," Dawn began, stretching her arms, "Now that everything's settled, what should me do today?"

"Hm," Kaido announced, scratching his chin in thought, "Surprisingly enough, I'm actually up for something...fun."

"FAIR!" R.E.F.U. screamed and pointed in excitement as he ran in halfspeed (which is pretty fast for him) over to what looked like a local festival.

Shouei sighed, "Well, let R.E.F.U. lead the way then."

[Beebs]

"Oh, a fair, how wonderful!" Dawn practically squeed, her eyes lighting up with excitement, "I haven't been to one since I was a little girl."

"Yeah, a fair sounds kind of nice. I haven't been to one in a while, either." Kaido added with a smile, slowly heading in the direction Refu burst off in.

Dawn examined the man as she followed along, turning her head in curiosity. She softly bit her lip before replying, "Y'know, Kaido, you seem in a good mood. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but it doesn't seem like you. Just about as long a I've known you, you've been kind of down...you're starting to act more like you did when we all first met."

Kaido's expression became slightly more grim as he directed his attention toward the young woman, answering, "Yeah...you're right. I'll admit, normally I'm not so serious and, well...kind of goofy. But ever since we came here, to Kyoto, I've been kind of down...this place holds some bad memories for me. It's not just that though; it started shortly after I met all of you...I don't know why, but it just seems like ever since then I've been on the grumpy side."

Dawn looked down at the ground as she walked, softly replying, "Well, I mean, our lives have been kind of stressful...maybe that's it."

"Maybe," Kaido solemnly responded, "But I think there's more to it than just that. Before I became an outcast I was very shy. I felt nervous around everyone and was very cautious about who I showed my true "fun and silly" personality to. Being on my own though, I had to overcome it to get by...so interacting with other people became easier. But still, I was often by myself...I think a mixture of my independence and loneliness caused me to act a little...funny and then everything shifted when I became a part of this group. It felt similar to how I felt around some of my...family. I don't know really..."

"I think I get what you mean," Dawn stated, smiling at Kaido, "A similar thing has happened to me to...only it's kind of opposite. I always felt so open around my family, so I might act a little bit more..."funny" too than I really should. After all, I almost consider all of you...my new family." The girl slightly blushed, unsure if her feelings would be returned by the others. Much to her surprise, Kaido came up beside her and wrapped his arm across her shoulders. This caused her face to flush with color even more.

"Yeah, I agree...completely," the man added, a wide smile now growing across his face.

History: Kinshi was born to a Japanese father and an American mother; this would result in a most useful method of escape. Before the Hiroshima bombing, Kinshi's parents fled to California in desperation, and they lived there for two years. When their child was six years old, the Yamato family returned to their home in Okayama after they believed all would be safe. Mr. Yamato proceeded with his career in the government, and he became a chief figure in genetics as he altered human genes with radiation. Disturbed and angered, a handful of his superhuman subjects attacked and killed the man, and they were out to seek the rest of his "corrupt" family. While she hid her son, Mrs. Yamato was brutally murdered, leaving her seven year old son an orphan. Desiring revenge, Kinshi will stop at nothing to avenge his family.
Personality: Quiet and reserved, Kinshi fails to fully extend himself to others.
Other info: Kinshi is a virtual genius and he aspires to take up his late father's work.

Beppa was still at the ramen shop, making a mysterious call on the restraunt's payphone. "Luckily, I found the R.E.F.U. easy to manipulate, so he'd be perfect for our plans; his caregiver does seem to pose a bit of a problem, but than again, I always DID like a challenge... I understand. Saionara." she hung up the phone and began walking out the building with her usual sexy strut.

Meanwhile, R.E.F.U. had just gotten a new pet goldfish from playing at the goldfish scooping stand.

Shouei just looked at him, "You do know those things don't last long, right?"

"Well at least what little time he has on Earth worth while." R.E.F.U. said as he looked over at his new finned friend. "We're gonna have so much fun; I'm gonna teach you how to dance, and roller skate, and play ball, and--"

[Liamane]

Flipping the page of the book he was reading, Kinshi let out a weary yawn before rubbing his left eye. He had been reading his novel extensively over the passed day, and of the two thousand seven hundred pages, he had completed seven eighths of it; it was a remarkable feat for a child his age. Finally, after marking his page, the teenager closed the book and set it upon his desk, his face leaned against his hand. He mustered enough will to rise to his feet; he brushed his pants off and he tightened the tie around his neck.

His home was empty as of late; the government officials that usually plagued his house had not been present for some time now, much to the boy's delight. Looking out the window, he gazed out at the house's front courtyard, now a barren garden, and recalled his mother planting a most impressive field of flowers at one point in time. He sighed and shut the window's curtains; the room became exceedingly dark. Kinshi turned on a light, and he put his thick book away on an impressive shelf of the library. The child grabbed his jacket on the chair beside him, and he left the room to take a stroll.

Leaving the festival and continuing their odyssey, the group walked by near a couple of residental houses. R.E.F.U. was having too much fun talking to his pet fish to really look where the others were going.

[Beebs]

"That festival sure was wonderful," Dawn gleefully said, eyes sparkling with joy as she lugged along a giant, pink bear, "Thanks so much for winning this for me!"

"No problem, it was easy," Kaido replied, his face flushed with color, "I really had a good time." He glanced over at Refu and Shouei, continuing, "Looks like they did too."

Dawn smirked, adding, "Yeah."

[Liamane]

Grasping the knob to the front door, Kinshi froze in place and a smug look crossed his face. He lowered his hand, and in a sweeping motion, he removed his coat of his shoulder; the young man let out a deep sigh. "Perhaps another time," the teenager whispered, burying his hands into his pockets. Although there was nothing else on his agenda, his sudden change of mind prevented him from stepping out of his house.

Sauntering into the old family room, the boy fell upon the couch, dust arose into the air as a result. He closed his eyes and placed his hands behind his head. Kinshi grumbled under his breath and listened in the distance as the old grandfather clock chimed triumphantly, marking a new hour. His body tossed onto its side, and he began to slowly blink. With nothing else to do, all the boy could do was lounge.

Not seeing where he was going, R.E.F.U. tripped over a crack in the road, and falling onto the earth, busted the plastic bag that held his goldfish. The fish came flying and flapping over to a house right near where the gang was and R.E.F.U. started chasing it.

"COME BACK, FISHIE!"

Shouei only sighed, realizing how much trouble the boy has gotten himself into before he went after him.

R.E.F.U. cased the goldfish, trying to grab and rescue him. When he finally DID catch the fish, he accidentally made a wall into the house and found himself in a living room with a teenage boy staring at him.

Widening his eyes, Kinshi jumped off of the couch, and ducking for cover, the teenager covered his head from the flying rubble. Peering over the sofa, he met eyes with R.E.F.U.; a sense of shock took his being. "You!" he exclaimed, pointing an index finger at the creation. "What the hell did you just do to my house?! Who are you, trespasser?"
