"If you won't leave by choice, I'd be happy to make you." Vincent growled protectively. He entered a subtle battle stance as he moved toward Gelo. He found himself fishing for a phantom weapon at his side, which drew away his attention for a moment. Skye took notice and became even stiffer.
"Vincent, there's no point in trying to reason with a lunatic like this," Rian insisted, tugging on the arm of the now firmly planted man with no success. He sighed. "Or at least let me out of your way before resorting to rage."
He carefully skulked away, brushing against his frozen sister on his way and he pressed his lips against the hair concealing her ear.
"I trust you know what to do," he whispered knowingly. "This is exactly the kind of confrontation we need be avoiding."
Without a hint of her fixation being distracted, she replied, "You know as well as I that this needs to be taken care of. Imagine if this man leaves and tells 10 more just like him what has happened. Bloodshed would be unavoidable."
"You have a point," Rian admitted with concern. He gazed at the standoff with his sister, anxious to see things play out.

Finally, Gelo drew breath as a wicked cackle erupted from his body. His eyes viciously crossed with an angered Vincent, and cocking his neck, he beckoned, "You look frightened, Red Eye! You're shaking!"
Vincent scowled, his aggravation surged as he attempted to control his rising tension. His teeth clenched behind his lips.
"Shut up," he retorted, releasing some of the building agitation through his verbal lash. "All you do is talk until you've chewed off my ear. If you meant to attack, you would have already done so. Go ahead, I'm done calling your bluffs."
The man of Sazrik's blood curdled, and swallowing the bitter taste in his mouth, his face became a subtle red. Rian shifted further behind Skye as his eyes became fixed on Gelo's emerging vessels.
