Shinra Electric Power Company has become the world's most reliable name. Stationed in the economical center of the world, Midgar, the prestigious company had previously invested in the Turks to serve as body guards and agents for the highest ranked staff. Now, the company makes another daring militaristic move as the science department, lead by the esteemed Dr. Hojo and Dr. Hollander, enfuse physically and mentally fit young men with Mako energy, the company's pride. These units are extremely powerful, and they become Shinra's own army, dubbing them SOLDIER units.

Ecku Ffemran is placed as the director of SOLDIER, and under him, hundreds of SOLDIER units have sworn their allegiance to Shinra. All is well, and the civilians of Midgar have even become fans of the highly exclusive First Class units. However, with the rebellious country of Wutai enraged with Shinra's misuse of the planet's mako, SOLDIER is sent to quench the senseless arguements.

Set twenty five years before the original Final Fantasy VII ((eighteen before Crisis Core)), you are a SOLDIER in this time of struggle. You can become a lowly Third Class battling the ranks, a Second Class on the verge of becoming a name, or even be a famous First Class unit with quite a resumé of fighting experience. As an alternative, you can also be a Turk, serving the president of Shinra himself.

Physical Description: Just a bit above average, Asher is somewhat tall in height, and his slender form allows him to be quite limber and agile in battle. His hair is a dark brown, and his Mako enriched eyes are deep blue in color. Although he's usually shaven, he sports a pair of sideburns from time to time. He wears the Second Class unit armor, and he sometimes wears his bulky helmet.
Personality: Asher is not a very motivated individual. For the most part, he can be rather lazy and somewhat indifferent. While he's at his finest during a mission, he often questions why he's in SOLDIER.
Brief History: Asher wasn't the one to decide that he should enter SOLDIER. It was his older brother, stricken with a serious ailment, that encouraged him to enter the ranks. In many situations, he believes that his brother, Locke, is forcing the life that he had always wanted on his younger brother. For this, Asher harbors a tense bitterness toward Locke. Asher often teases, "It's the gil that keeps me here." He's been with SOLDIER for some time now, and although he shows potential, he's as sluggish as the day he joined Shinra.

Physical Description: Sleek and slim, Rena has short, jet black hair and grey eyes. His face is lean and attractive, but a smile is rarely present. She wears the traditional Turk uniform.
Personality: Often keeping her tongue in check, Rena is often reserved and calm, especially on duty. She usually keeps to herself, and her keen eye is always first to discover a dilemna.
Brief History: Rena's late father was a researcher for Shinra who studied Mako. After her father died, Rena took it upon herself to serve Shinra. What she lacked in her father's field she made up in strength, and she was prompted to join Shinra through the Turks. Her weapon of choice is a handgun.
