Please select a canon character.
Searching for an earthbending teacher to help Aang learn earthbending, the kids come upon a group of nomads who play music that tells me about a secret tunnel on the way to the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu. Realizing of all other routes being blocked by Fire Nation blockades. He know this is the only route available.
Once they entered the cave, they get trapped inside as a group of Fire Nation tanks pull up and close the entrance way. The group discovers that the tunnel was really a labyrinth which made them wonder for a good period of time, before they encounter a group of wolfbats which caused a rockavanch. The group gets separated, after Aang rescues Katara from being squished between the falling rocks.
Well trying to find their way out, Aang's emotional feelings for Katara begins to cloud his better judgment. Katara trys to figure out a way out of the caves, she realizes of Aang's "attention" of her. For some strange reason, she was feeling an odd attraction to the small boy. Yet she wasn't sure if it was right.
They continued deeper into the cave until they came across a spirit being that bid them hello. Realizing that Aang was the Avatar, Katara stepped back and allowed Aang to communicate with it. Nervous at first, Aang asked what was the way out of the cave. The spirit told him a long story about the history the caves and even Omashu had before revealing the way out.
Getting frustrated, Aang finally asked out of angry for a way out. To which the spirit told him to "trust in love". He then asked it to repeat what it said, and again the words "trust in love" was said. Looking backward at Katara, while she was watching the two way conversation. Her cheeks began to blush when she realized Aang was looking back at her at the very odd time. Aang on the other hand was embarrassed.
Before disappearing into the darkness, the spirit told both of them that it sensed feelings between the two of them and they shouldn't hide their love for each other or cover it up, for love shall conquer over all.
After walking awhile after the spirit's departure. Aang and Katara finally came to the realization that they both loved each other. Both nervous on confessing, the two slowly approached each other and shared a kiss. The spirit suddenly appeared out of sight to witness this moment along with the spirits of Omu and Shu, the two lovers for which the city was named. They then blessed the two of them with powers greater than anyone could comprehend.
Katara was granted with the gift of "everlasting life," which in spirit sense, meant that she was able to heal almost everyone from almost anything, as well as good care taking.
While Aang learned how to bend all four elements as well as granted with the gift of the "super bomb" which could element an entire city if given the chance. Only to be used when no other alternative is available and to be used responsibly.
Once the two received their gifts and their kiss was done, the two suddenly leaped out of the roof of the cave with the others noticing, who followed the beam of light left behind.
Once everyone reunited, Sokka approached the two as he asked what happened. Aang told him nothing much, other than the fact that He and Katara were love with each other. To which Sokka fainted upon hearing this news. Once he woke up, the group parted ways with the nomads and continued their journey to Omashu regardless of the fact that Aang could defeat the Firelord at that point in time.
