Kickass, no? Yeah, I've yet to fully watch the anime, but I've finished the manga, and I thought it was totally killer (*pun*). Near turned out to be my favorite character; he's like the more badass version of L. Beebs, this is your cue to add to the thread. XDD

Just finished the anime recently, still working on the manga. Best. Anime. Ever. Period. 100%, without a doubt, my favorite. The ending made me so emotional, it was downright shocking. Not since 5x15 of Angel have I felt so distraught by a character's downfall. It takes a lot to take me to that point, but surely enough DN succeeded.
Ryuk is most likely my favorite character, followed by Near and Light. Never liked L too much, but I did however like Rem... a lot. Not sure why, but there was something about her that I really loved.
The series got so much better after, well... a specific arc ended with a specific death. :\ Up until then it was just good, but after that it became purely epic. I'll continue to love this anime... foevah, yo.

I love this series. I've read the whole manga but I've only seen the first episode of the anime. The one thing I really liked about this series is the fact that it was so original. Like if you look at other animes, for example you got Naruto. Ninjas. Not saying all animes are totally unoriginal and not saying Naruto is completely unoriginal it's just that when I first got into Death Note, that's the first thing that came to my mind.

Death Note certainly is original, that's for sure. The concept itself totally piqued my attention. Gotta love it!
