Leave it to Liamane to start a poll for favorite characters!! XDDD My favorite's Zuko, for those of you who don't already know. XDD Fiery and strong, this fella knows how to carry himself. His character's developed nicely, and now that he's with Aang and company, I'm sure we'll see Zuko in a way like never before! XDD Sooo, what about you?

my choice is Aang because he's just so noble for trying to save the world... he's a kid and he's doing the impossible by trying to defeat one of the toughest guys in their world... talk about bravery, y'know? props for Aang :]

Well I have to say that my favorite characters are a tie between Combustion Man, King Bumi, and Katara. Combustion Man had potential to become such a good villain and there was a lot we didn't know about him it was a shame when they had to kill him off. The Beach might have been his episode, I just have this weird feeling.
King Bumi is another one of my favorites, his sense of humor is really cunning and the fact that he hides his genius so well. And only uses it when needed is another trait I like about him.
Last but not least we have Katara. Her spirit, optimistic attitude and everything she has been though makes a guy feel sorry for her. She is motherly when needed, but a fierce fighter when something differently gets under her skinned. She is truly great.
Now for the two characters I symly with has to be Toph Beifong and Prince Zuko. Sometimes my inner feelings battle within myself and it feels really painful when that happens. I like Toph because she was imprisoned and sometimes I feel imprisoned with only the internet to keep me company. I truly envy her, because she had people come and rescue her from that imprisonment, I wish somebody could do this for me.

Used to, I would have chosen Katara or Toph, but since rewatching the series, I've come to like Sokka more and more. His humor his the closest thing that comes to funny on the show and he's pretty a pretty impressive fighter for a non-bender.

Does anyone think that Katara might an Aquarius? She always houses those Aquarius qualities I always seen on Horoscope. He is the perfect Aquarius and it is interesting, because that is also the sign for the element of water.

One Katara's a girl! And two...I think they would go by the Chinese Zodiac, no offense. It would mess up the story line since most of it is Chinese or Japanese origin.

It really doesn't matter, seeing how our zodiac has elements to it. The Chinese zodiac is a little different and seeing how it has five elements. That really work well with the traditional four elements. Otherwise it really doesn't matter, like it doesn't matter with a character turned out to be gay. It's unimportant. Of course she's a girl. But she could also be an Aquarius, for example if you make her personality on The Sims 2. It always comes out to be Aquarius.

Well...I don't think there's really much real-world origin to any of it, other than like martial arts styles. But I can see I'm alone in the whole Sokka thing. xDD

Well there are a lot of real world references, basically a lot of history references though.  The people are possibly based on real people like the Water Tribes and the Inuit peoples. Earth Kingdom is a mixture of Arabic, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian (Fire Nation Man  ), etc. The Air Nomads are mixed too mostly with Asian and White. Some of the nomads were White like Europeans. The Fire Nation is most like Imperial Japan, Nazi Germany, United States, China. |

I couldn't vote in this poll because I cannot chose between Aang and Katara.
They've always been my favorites and it constantly switches which is number one and which number two.. But I really cannot chose.

Well, my turn to revive this ol' biznotch.
Since watching the series again, or rather rekindling my memories of the characters, I would retract my vote, and I'd pick Jet as my favorite character. Hell, he was somewhat annoying at certain points, but who wasn't in this show? I'm a sucker for the bad boy; sweep me off my feet, Jet. :3
