A firm voice broke the ill silence of the pelting rain. "..you two are mere mortals. Stop trying to defy fate. Uchiha Sasuke is never coming back." Oh how right the woman hokage was at that moment.. oh how wrong she turned out to be.
During Team 7 and Team 8's mission to retrieve the Uchiha traitor, they had found a badly wounded Uchiha sitting alone in a cave shaking miserably from shock. Unable to console him, he was knocked unconscious by the pink-haired medical ninja. Obsidian eyes awoke to bright white and the unmistakably scent of a hospital. Rolling over to his side, his eyes instantly met with jade. Blinking, he saw cerulean upon opening his eyes again. Sakura.. Naruto.. ? He exhaled slightly before realizing that he was either in tremendous pain or he was numb throughout parts on his body. Slowly, he sunk back into the darkness of slumber that engulfed him. Uchiha Sasuke was back in Konoha.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Madara cursed under his breath at the retrieval of Sasuke. "Aww.. I wasn't done torturing him yet.." And with that, he was gone.
Now, two years later, The rookie nine rest at age eighteen. Although Team 7 was corrected, they didn't lose any members as Sai or Sakura had become their sensei when Kakashi could not. Oddly enough, Naruto and Sasuke still remain genin for Sasuke was not permitted to take the chuunin exams for two years. Naruto pleasantly waited until Sasuke could so they could fight together. Now of age, a new chuunin exam is brewing and the genin plan to participate in it. However.. Sasuke knows that Uchiha Madara is still living, and like his revenge lust for Itachi, he craves it with him. He waits until he fights Naruto in the chuunin exam.. for that would surely make him stronger in order to beat Madara. Or perhaps he seeks comfort and assistance of his friends? In either case, Madara or 'Tobi' has the remaining Akatsuki back up and searches for new members.
